Bowl Games are for the enrichment of groups and individuals that do not include players
In September 2013 I wrote an article on this blog site expressing my concern about seniors and draft prospects playing in bowl games.
I am delighted to see that more players are getting the message.
What does it profit a player to get hurt in a meaningless bowl game and miss out on an opportunity to earn millions of dollars?
The pro scouts already have more than enough data on your skills.
Some players stock goes down when they play in bowl games. I believe that is the case with two high profile players this year.
Really, in my opinion, when players play in bowl games it is akin to slaves picking cotton and tossing peanut bags all day long. At the end of the day or season the owners get a hefty paycheck and the slaves get a meal and no money for their work.
When the regular season ends the players have fulfilled their scholarship obligations.
As it is now, the players don't get any of the millions and millions of dollars they have generated for a lot of folks.
Yep, sounds like slave labor to me.
Well, that is my take on the matter.
