College Football Championship Game in Mid January: Season Too Long. Lost Interest

Article 1 Volume 12
Young men started this free labor work in Spring before new football season

The game may be interesting but the rosters and interest of the players have changed drastically since the beginning of the season in August or September of the prior year

The players managed to get some free time during the holidays, but not much. They were still committed to playing the scheduled games in January.  Little consideration is given to the fact that most players, I believe, are tired and really need to rest their bodies and study.

They are called student athletics but really they are like farmhands, working to help their colleges and universities raise money for non-revenue producing sports. so that funds will be available for scholarships and to pay grants and bonuses to students and faculty members.

I believe a student season should end when his team's conference championship game ends.
At this point, a student has fulfilled his obligation for the football team.

Anything after should definitely be for pay.  Consider the millions of dollars that are made during the college football bowl season, and players, in many cases, can not get seconds during mealtime or like Clemson's National Championship team, fly to South Carolina from California and then to Washington, DC for a McDonald's meal at the White House.

To me, the players are like slaves in the cotton fields, picking a pounds of cotton, but only rewarded with an extra chicken foot for picking the most on a certain day.

The players, in some cases, get scholarships, but that is only a small stipend in most cases for the billions of dollars our children generate for colleges, cities, TV, and other entities in the economy.

In conclusion, the players should be paid cash and the season is way too long.
